Simon Phillips opgenomen in het ziekenhuis
Onduidelijk hoe veel shows worden afgezegd

Toto's Simon Phillips is voor een aantal weken opgenomen in het ziekenhuis. Doktoren hebben hem laten opnemen voor een nog onbekende reden. De band heeft verschillende optredens moeten uitstellen vanwege zijn tijdelijke afwezigheid.
Het offici�le statement op de website van Toto luidt:
"Dear Friends and Fans,
It is with great sadness that we must reluctantly inform all of you that Toto�s September 27th show at The Indio Municipal Golf Course has been cancelled due to the illness of Simon Phillips, our drummer. We thoroughly apologize for the inconvenience to the promoter and the fans, as doctors have ordered him to be hospitalized for possibly several weeks.
Optimistically, we are looking forward to a speedy recovery for Simon, with another Toto play date to be announced in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and patience with regard to this recent health concern.
All of your kind thoughts are most appreciated."
Recentelijk werden er een aantal Europese clinicdata bekend gemaakt van Simon Phillips, waaronder die bij Adams Drumworld op 11 oktober a.s. Het is overigens nog allerminst zeker of deze data ook gecancelled zullen worden.
Er zijn namenlijk ook geruchten dat Simon Phillips gewoon thuis zit met een flinke pijn in de maagstreek, en dat hij simpelweg genoeg rust moet nemen om volledig te herstellen. In dat geval zou de opname in het ziekenhuis waarschijnlijk beperkt zijn gebleven tot een standaard controle.

David Paich, de toetsenist van Toto, is momenteel in China om het muzikale thema te schrijven voor de Olympische Spelen in 2008. Daarover zegt hij:
"I am currently in China (Shanghai) and have been here for two weeks on a vacation with my wife Lorraine and daughter Elizabeth. I am doing some research to write a theme for the 2008 Olympics.
My daughter (who sings Beijing opera) is over here with me helping to translate for me with all the different Ethnic instruments. It is a real education to experience the similarities and differences in China's 5000 year old culture and music. Pictures to come soon!"
