"Just one of those things — I was re-arranging my rehearsal studio in Hollywood when my shoelace got caught in the 'U' part of a guitar stand (the part that the neck sits into) that was laying on the floor. I couldn't get loose, stumbled, and instinctively stuck my hands out to break my fall. When I got back up it started to hurt but at first I didn't think it was anything more than a strain. I had a doctor take a look at it anyway and X-rays confirmed that I had broken my left wrist. The doc tells me that it's a clean break and will heal nicely but I need to have a cast on for about 6 weeks. I've never had a broken bone in my life so this is a bit strange for me. By the way, in addition to the standard white, casts come in all colors these days - red, blue, yellow, you name it. I went for the black, of course. Gotta keep it metal! (...) In the meantime, I think I'll be working on my double bass drumming."
