Marco Minnemann nieuwe Necrophagist-drummer

Marco Minnemann, drumgrootmeester en lichtend voorbeeld voor vele collegatrommelaars, is de nieuwe drummer van het Duitse Necrophagist. Minnemann vervangt Johannes Großmann, die besloot zijn studie voorrang te geven.
"The band is absolutely stoked to announce that Marco Minnemann will be drumming on the new Necrophagist album, due in 2008. We can't wait to work on arranging the new songs with such an incredibly talented, proficient and complete musician/composer."
Marco Minnemann heeft samengewerkt met tal van muzianten, waaronder legendes als Paul Gilbert, Mike Keneally, Allan Holdsworth, Terry Bozzio en Chad Wackerman.
Minnemann is endorser van DW-drums, Zildjian-bekkens, Pro-Mark drumsticks, Roland electronische drums, Evans vellen en Audix micofoons.
Marco Minnemann zal voor het eerst met Necrophagist te horen zijn tijdens de komende Summer Slaughter Tour die 1 juni 2007 van start gaat. De tour kent naast Necrophagist als headliners nog een flink aantal bands: support komt van Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, As Blood Runs Black, Arsis, Ion Dissonance en Beneath The Massacre. Op enkele data komt daar bovendien Daath bij als 'special regionale gastband'.
Tijdens de tournee zal Necrophagist voor de allereerste keer zijn laatste album, "Epitaph", volledig integraal live ten gehore brengen.
