Stet Howland maakt vertrek bij WASP bekend

WASP-drummer Stet Howland (foto) heeft zijn vertrek bij de band aangekondigd. Howland wil zich liever richten op zijn nieuwe band Temple of Brutality.
"In mid-January, Blackie [Lawless] and I had a phone conversation that resulted in our parting. It wasn't shitty, ugly, or disrespectful in any way. It was two old and dear friends being honest with each other. After 16 years as friends and bandmates, one thing you learn is how to be honest with each other. So the bottom line is, I will not be part of the upcoming tour, and I'm not sure who the drummer will be as its really none of my business."
Eén van de kanshebbers om Stet Howland op te volgen, is drummer Jeremy Spencer, die ook al te horen was op de solo-albums van WASP-gitarist Darrell Roberts en eerder met de band tourde.
Howland kwam in april 2004 opnieuw bij WASp nadat hij enkele jaren had besteed aan het bouwen van zijn eigen Bad Dogs opnamestudio en het samenstellen van de band The Howlin' Dogs. De drummer speelde daarnaast in Carnival Of Souls, totdat hij in februari 2006 uit die groep stapte.
Onlangs is Howland vooral bezig geweest met Temple of Brutality, zijn nieuww band waarin ook ex-Megadeth/huidige F5-bassist David Ellefson, gitarist Peter Scheithauer (Belladonna, Killing Machine) en zanger Todd Barnes (13-A) spelen.
