Guns n' Roses bassist Tommy Stinson's is currently touring in support of his solo debut, "Village Gorilla Head", which was released in July 2004 through Sanctuary Records.

Stinson, a founding Replacements member, recorded the material with contributions from drummer Josh Freese (see photo), his brother Jason Freese on saxophone, Catholics guitarist Dave Philips, Guns n' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus and keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

Freese is a frequently asked session drummer who played with A Perfect Circle and The Vandals among many other acts.

Most drum tracks on Stinson's debut album are played by Gary "Gersh" Gershunoff, well-known drum tech, professional drummer and owner of Drum Fetish.

Tommy Stinson himself is also featured on drums in the song "Ok".

Stinson recorded the album in a Los Angeles studio owned by Charles Thompson, who is better known as Frank Black (The Pixies, Frank Black and the Catholics).
