Nieuwe band voor Stone Temple Pilots-drummer

Hij vervangt vaste drummer Steve Jacobs, die opnieuw last kreeg van een schouderblessure. Kretz lijkt echter niet alleen als sessiedrummer te fungeren, maar ook een vast bandlid te zijn geworden.

Jacobs, ook bekend als drummer in Forbidden en Manmade God, blijkt dusdanig ernstig geblesseerd dat hij serieus rekening moet houden met een speelpauze van een jaar. De drummer is noodgedwongen opgestapt en voor onbepaalde tijd naar huis vertrokken.

Spiralarms-gitarist Craig Locicero heeft de volgende verklaring over Jacobs' vertrek afgegeven:

"Steve Jacobs, our longtime drummer, and the best friend I've ever had in music, has re-injured himself again. This time it's beyond any immediate repair; at least a year of rehab with no guarantee that he can ever play the drums safely again. This news was devastating to all of us because of the chemistry that we all had, and of course our friendship and his passion to see the band through. "

"After explaining to Eric [Kretz] what happened to Steve [Jacobs], I asked him what he thought about coming up to the Bay Area and playing drums with us. Now, keep in mind that Eric has already been a creative part of this thing from the begining. Actually, musicaly we go back 10 years.
