Phil Varone hoofdrol in documentaire

Phil Varone, bekend als drummer in rockbands Saigon Kick en Skid Row, is hoofdrolspeler in de documentaire "Waking Up Dead". De flm gaat onder meer over de "verderfelijke invloed van beroemdheid".
Filmmaker Fabio Jafet volgde vier jaar lang het leven van Phil Varone:
"Waking Up Dead documents the highs and lows of the underground, alternative and heavy metal worlds and how they conspire to destroy the families, careers and the very lives of the rock musicians on whom they depend."
Drummer Phil Varone, eveneens co-producer van de docu, denkt dat film een goede inkijk biedt in het leven van een rock 'n roll-ster:
"For all of those people over the years who have asked about the glamour of the rock and roll life, the unvarnished answer is 'Waking Up Dead'!"
