Vinny Appice maakt tijd vrij voor 3 Legged Dogg
Drummer hoopt op gaatje in tourschema Heaven And Hell

De drummende hardrockveteraan Vinny Appice zal het grootste deel van 2007 op tour zijn: Samen met Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi en Geezer Butler doet Appice een flinke serie shows onder de naam Heaven And Hell. Toch denkt de drummer dat hij daarnaast nog tijd heeft om met 3 Legged Dogg het podiumdebuut te maken.
"We were planning to go out and do a tour in 2007, but now, the Black Sabbath/Heaven And Hell thing is going to take a lot of my time up, so everything is put on hold. We intend to do a video in February, so we can have that at least on the Internet. I think we'll probably end up doing some shows, because Black Sabbath won't go all the way for eight or nine months — there will be breaks here and there."
Ondanks de krappe planning vertrouwt Appice erop dat 3 Legged Dogg in 2007 gewoon doorgaat en zelfs zal werken aan een nieuw album.
3 Legged Dogg is ontstaan uit de Hollywood Allstarz, waarin Vinny Appice en zanger Chas West van Bonham beiden speelden. Al snel voegden gitaristen Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot) en Brian Young (David Lee Roth) zich bij het do. Bassist Jimmy Bain (Rainbow, Dio) maakt de bezetting compleet. Volgens Appice was er direct een zekere chemie tussen de muzikanten:
"It works great. Carlos [Cavazo] has a lot of ideas, a lot of riffs and different things we tried. Jimmy [Bain] comes up with — out of nowhere — different changes and certain riffs that he wrote himself. We just basically try them and if we like them, we keep working on them. Chas [West] hears a vocal line, then we'll keep working on it and develop it into a song. And then Brian Young is more of a bluesy/rock player — he's got a lot of different riffs."
