Bevan Davies duikt op in nieuwe band

Onder de naam The Mercy Clinic heeft Lachman een bezetting van ervaren muzikanten om zich heen verzameld. Naast Davies en Lachman bestaat de line-up uit gitaristen Brian Harrah (Professional Murder Music) en Josh Stinson (Drist), en bassist Steed Najera (Triple Seven).

De basis voor The Mercy Clinic werd in 2004 gevormd toen Harrah wat demomateriaal opstuurde naar Lachman. Aan MTV.com vertelt frontman Lachman:

"[Brian Harrah] just wanted my opinion on it, and I loved it. It was completely different from what I was doing with Damageplan. And then, after everything went down in December, I took a little time to figure out what I was going to do next. (...) It started as an experiment, and it was really cathartic for me. I just started writing and dumping everything I had — all this sewage in my head — into the lyrics. I'm incredibly proud of it, and think it's the best work I've ever done."
