Drummer Barry Stern, known from Trouble and Debris Inc. among others, sadly passed away on Friday April 1, 2005.

Stern, who was recovering from hip-replacement surgery, was believed to be in his mid-40s.

Trouble posted this message on their official web site regarding the passing of their former drummer:
"We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Barry Stern on Friday morning (April 1). Our hearts and prayers go out to all his family and friends today. (...) We remember all the good times we had together and come to know that they are priceless all we can say is that we love you and miss you and one day we will jam together again. Rest in peace."

Stern played drums and sang on the first two Zoetrope albums — 1985's "Amnesty" and 1987's "A Life of Crime" — before leaving to join the Chicago doomsters Trouble prior to the recording of their classic 1990 self-titled offering. He stuck around long enough to appear on the follow-up effort, 1992's "Manic Frustration".
