Paul Stanley McKenzie is Young Drummer of the Year 2005.
"Right from the first note of his solo, he [Paul Stanley McKenzie] had a definite star quality about him. He’s a little feller, but produces an extraordinarily heavy groove, with a massive Dennis Chambers-esque fat backbeat launched from somewhere above his shoulder and sometimes far above his head. His playing was solid, and backed up with some major showmanship; twirling sticks while lashing his cymbals, thundering bass drum rolls and a hilarious “I can’t bear to look” fill, covering his eyes with one hand while whipping a blizzard-like roll around the toms."
