Eerder meldden we al dat The Drumbassadors (Wim de Vries en René Creemers) en Michael Schack met V-Topia alle dagen op de beurs zullen spelen. Mocht je nog niet zeker weten of je er heen wilt gaan, dan hebben wij alvast een kleine selectie van hoogtepunten qua acts voor je samengesteld.

Uiteraard vinden er ook weer de nodige prijsuitreikingen plaats. De belangrijkste prijzen die vergeven worden zijn:

• German Music Instrument Prize
  Een prijs op instrumentengebied, en wel: double bass and bass trombone. Twee instrumentenmakers uit de Bavaria-staat in Duitsland krijgen dit jaar de GMIP.
  
• The Frankfurt Music Prize
  Dit jaar gaat deze prijs naar Peter Eötvös, componist, dirigent en docent. Sinds 1980 wordt deze prijs jaarlijks uitgereikt door de 'Trustees of the Frankfurt Music Prize Foundation' aan muzikanten voor 'special achievements in the fields of interpretation, composition, musicology and teaching', zoals de officiële omschrijving luidt.
  
• Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA)
  Awards voor de beste producten van het afgelopen jaar in meer dan 40 categorieën.
  
• SchoolJam - more power for young talents
  Prijs voor SchoolJam bandjes uit heel Duitsland

    Meet Marco and Dario Klein. Two really talented 19 year old identical twins from the outskirts of Heidelberg, Germany. I met them after giving a concert near their home and was knocked out by their guitar playing, singing and songwriting.
