The Conga Kings komen naar Europa

Een buitenkans voor liefhebbers van Latin jazz en Afro/Cubaanse ritmes. In de line-up die naar Europa komt, zitten vier van 's werelds beste conguero's: Candido Camero, Carlos "Patato" Valdes, Miguel "Angá" Diaz en Francisco Aguabella. Bovendien zal percussionist Joe Gonzalez op bongo's te horen zijn.

In 2000 verscheen het gelijknamige debuutalbum van The Conga Kings, gevolgd door het album "Jazz Descargas". Deze release werd omschreven als:

"(...) a spontaneous celebration of modern rhythm and melody, a joyous colloquium of Jazz and Afro-Cuban sounds by the likes of Machito, Dizzy Gillespie and Tito Puente. Historically, musically and conceptually, this rhythmic dream team is creating the genuine article."
