Het is officieel: De Amerikaanse indie-rockers Grandaddy hebben bevestigd dat ze stoppen na de release van hun afscheidsalbum "Just Like The Fambly Cat", dat in mei verschijnt via V2. De band uit Californië zal niet meer touren en is niet van plan ooit nog samen te werken.
Nu hebben de muzikanten het nieuws bevestigd op hun officiële website. Grandaddy-drummer Aaron Burtch (foto) verklaart:
"Well I guess that's it. I don't really know what else to say, and maybe there just aren't any words to properly express my feelings about the past 14 years or so. It just goes too deep. Maybe I'll post something more proper and detailed sometime in the future, but for now I just want to want to tell you all thank you for being there for and with us. We'll never forget you and we'll be forever grateful to you for being friends and supporters of our dumb band."
Grandaddy begon in 1992 en kreeg lovende kritieken voor albums als "Under The Western Freeway" en "The Sophtware Slump".
